Church and Volunteer Mobilization Services
Linking Refugee and Immigrant Families with Local Churches and Volunteers to Facilitate Life-Changing Relationships

World Relief believes that the Church must be the "hands and feet of Jesus Christ."

Matthew 5:16 says, "...let your light shine before man, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."  And James 1:22 says, "Do not merely listen to the word... Do what it says."

World Relief values the local church as a primary agent of bringing peace, justice and love to a broken world. We believe the Church offers hope and life, and the best context for working with the poor in overcoming their lack of opportunity.  The local Anglo church, with their ability to meet spiritual, social and physical needs, and the local ethnic church, with their understanding of culture and the immigrant experience, can together restore relationships and develop communities. The integrated "word" and "deed" dimensions of God's mandate are necessary to bringing reconciliation and restoration to God, others and the environment.

We believe showing suffering people that Christians care and that the Church wants to make a lasting impact on their lives is a powerful expression of our faith and love for God.  World Relief empowers, equips and strengthens churches to serve their communities, enabling them to act as beacons of hope to their people and to spread the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.  Church-centered, grassroots initiatives tackle entrenched and intertwined problems of poverty - and people experience transformation in their lives, in their families, in their churches, and in their communities.
