World Relief and Mission Exchange offer an update on the response of the church in Haiti.

Haiti

The Silent Earthquake

Even as we respond to the terror of the massive earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12th, 2010, we are reminded that for decades, Haiti has been ravaged by the silent earthquake of crippling poverty.

Haiti is by far the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere. Most of the country’s population lives on less than $2 a day.

For the many Haitians already living on the margin, when a natural disaster like the recent earthquake strikes, the effect is almost unimaginable.

World Relief invites you to stand by your neighbor. In the days ahead, Haiti’s churches will be at the center of relief and recovery efforts. Join them in responding to the cry of the suffering by giving, praying, and getting others involved.
