Join World Relief As We Pray for Haiti
Praise the Lord...
- Haiti has made it through the first two months of hurricane season without being hit by any major storms.
- every family in need of housing received temporary shelter by May 1st, prior to the start of hurricane season.
- for the faith and continued perseverance of the Haitian Church.
- for the resiliency of Haiti’s people and for story after story of Haitians serving their neighbors and communities, putting the needs of others before their own.
- for the commitment of U.S. churches—more than 50 church leaders gathered with World Relief on June 14th and 15th at a Haiti 5 event to share values and vision for long-term partnership with Haitian churches.
Please join us in praying...
- for safety and protection from the elements for the estimated 1.3 million Haitians living in tents or other forms of temporary shelter. Hurricane season began June 1st and is predicted to be one of the worst seasons in decades.
- against the outbreak and spread of diseases – due to high population density, the temporary camps where roughly one million Haitians are living are prone to outbreak of diseases.
- for NGOs, the international community and the Haitian government to overcome the huge obstacles they face in the rebuilding process, such as land disputes and uncleared rubble.
- for churches in the United States and around the world as they continue to respond. Pray for great wisdom in how the global Church serves the Haitian Church.
- for the children of Haiti, many of whom have been separated from their families. Pray for their safety and security and that they would continue to be reunited with their families and loved ones.
- for local churches as they are overwhelmed at times with the needs in their immediate community. Pray for faith and wisdom in how they serve the most vulnerable around them.
- for a smooth transition for John O’Kelley, World Relief's new Haiti Country Director and for Joe and CC Crowley, World Relief volunteers who will be working with church partnerships.
Thank you for praying with us.
