TAD Program (Targeted Assistance Discretionary)
Sometimes assistance is as simple as keeping refugees mobile with a ride to and from work. Other times it is helping to build skills into lives that have long term rewards.
Van Service: Clients can get a ride to and from work for up to three months.
Driver’s Ed: Clients who have a permit can get a driving instructor to help them learn to drive and pass a driving test.
Vocational Training: Often refugees arrive with a rich employment background, but without American certifications. To help them back into their field, we are able to send them to Vocational Training Schools such as Elite Nurses Aide Academy to become Nurse Aides.
We have also helped clients pass certification exams to become Medication Aides, HVAC Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians, and Phlebotomy Technicians, among other professions.
World Relief holds computer classes for our clients, helping them become familiar with technology and preparing them for the American work world.
Opportunities to serve in this program are varied and numerous. To learn more contact Wes Toland at (817) 915-8368 or email him at wtoland@wr.org.
