Life Changing Testimonies

Hanna and Lungong married at young ages, neither with enough education to find work. They decided to migrate from their small village in India to a township to find day labor and opportunities for their children to one day attend school. A relative suggested that they inquire about the credit program offered through World Relief.

Hanna and Lungong were invited to the weekly meetings and over the course of time became regular attendees with questions on how they could begin their own business. They received pre-loan training along with other new clients and during their first loan cycle, they began a bulk buying and reselling business that was demanding, but rewarding. Hanna and Lungong had enough to pay for basic needs and school fees and save up capital by the end of the loan cycle. This savings supported their second loan and allowed them enough to by a cow.

The cow offered them enough milk to sell and repay their loan, as well as cover school fees and their daily needs. Their continuing loan and savings opportunities provided Hanna and Lungong with land on the outskirts of town, where the cow was easily kept and her manure served as fertilizer for the vegetable garden they began. The couple now has land, a house, three children attending school and a small savings in the bank.
