On Saturday, Feb. 28, the United States and Israel launched coordinated military strikes across multiple sites in Iran. In response, Iran fired missiles and drones at Israel and at locations across the Gulf that host U.S. forces. As conflict escalates and suffering grows, let us lift up our hearts in prayer for peace in the Middle East.
Lord, as conflict deepens in Iran and across the Middle East, we pray for peace to envelop the region.
Protect innocent lives and comfort the grieving. We lament the loss of young lives taken too soon.
We pray for those who have been forced to flee their homes because of this crisis — protect them, provide for them and help them rebuild their lives.
Father, shield the persecuted church and all those targeted for their faith in you. Hide them under the shadow of your wing.
We pray for leaders and authorities, that wisdom, justice and mercy will mark their paths forward.
Lord, speak peace into the region. Amen.
