ENGLISH CLASSES
Beginning English Extended Cultural Orientation
Extended support group for both pre-literate men and women of various backgrounds. Participants will practice essential English communication skills for daily life—such as greetings, shopping, transportation, and healthcare—through interactive and practical activities. The program combines basic English language learning with cultural orientation, wellness, and integration support. Participants who attend 100% of the time receive a gift at the end of each quarter.
Intermediate English
This Intermediate ESL course supports adult learners in strengthening functional English skills needed for greater independence in daily life and community participation. Building on foundational language skills, participants practice speaking, listening, reading, and writing through real-world contexts such as healthcare communication, transportation navigation, workplace readiness, school engagement, and civic participation. Instruction integrates cultural orientation, wellness topics, and practical problem-solving activities to promote confidence, self-advocacy, and successful integration into the local community. Participants who attend 100% of the time receive a gift at the end of each quarter.
CITIZENSHIP PREPARATION
The Citizenship preparation class prepares eligible lawful permanent residents to successfully complete the naturalization process and become U.S. citizens. Through interactive instruction, participants will build the knowledge and confidence needed to pass the civics and English portions of the U.S. naturalization interview covering U.S. history and government (100 civics questions), reading and writing practice, interview preparation, and vocabulary development related to the N-400 application, a level 3-4 is required for success.
Who Can Enroll?
- Maximum of 5 years in the U.S. Refugees, Asylees, Parolees, SIV, TVisa, Amerasian, U-Visa.
- I-94, Identification that reflects legal status
- If more than 5 years in the U.S.
- Government ID
- Proof of low income; DSHS Letter, SSI, or most recent paystub
