As we reflect on 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for the incredible community that made this year possible. Despite changing policies, funding challenges, and growing needs, World Relief Texas remained steadfast in our mission to walk alongside refugees and other immigrants as they build lives of stability, dignity, and opportunity.
Because of the faithful support of our volunteers, church partners, donors, and advocates, we served 2,688 refugees and other immigrants across Texas this year. Together, we welcomed 554 newly arrived refugees, helped individuals secure 216 new jobs, and invested in programs that empower families to flourish.
Every Number Represents a Story
Behind every statistic is a person with dreams, resilience, and hope.
This year, we celebrated stories like Florence and Pascal, who arrived in Texas after years of waiting in a refugee camp. When unexpected funding cuts threatened their fresh start, a local church surrounded them with practical support, friendship, and encouragement. Today, their family is thriving as they continue building a new life together.
We also shared Victor’s story, whose determination to learn English and earn his commercial driver’s license led to a better career and greater opportunities for his family. And Augustine, who spent more than two decades in a refugee camp before resettling in Fort Worth at 94 years old, reminded us that even a simple gift—like a donated bicycle—can restore joy, independence, and belonging.
The Power of Community
None of this work happens alone.
In 2025, 340 volunteers faithfully gave 2,611 hours of their time, while 75 church partners opened their doors and hearts to welcome newcomers into their communities. Their commitment extended far beyond meeting practical needs—it fostered friendships, belonging, and hope.
Volunteers like Kory in Dallas and Jessica in Austin demonstrated what it means to faithfully walk alongside refugee and immigrant families, creating spaces where relationships flourish and lives are transformed.
Building Opportunity Through Education
Education remained a cornerstone of our work this year. Nearly 700 students participated in English language classes, completing 1,700 hours of online instruction and hundreds of in-person learning opportunities. At the same time, our Refugee School Impact program prepared 140 preschool-aged children for success in kindergarten through language development, social-emotional learning, and early childhood education.
Looking Ahead
2025 also marked a historic milestone as World Relief Texas raised $1.2 million, the highest level of funding in our region’s history. These resources, along with the generosity of countless supporters, strengthened our ability to serve vulnerable families during an especially challenging year.
While the needs remain significant, so does the opportunity to make a lasting impact. Every volunteer hour, every prayer, every donation, and every act of welcome helps create a future where refugees and other immigrants can thrive.
To everyone who partnered with us in 2025—thank you. Because of your generosity and compassion, thousands of lives were changed, and countless stories of hope continue to unfold.
Together, we look forward to another year of welcoming our neighbors and helping communities flourish. To learn more about our programs, partnerships and community impact, read our full 2025 Annual Report online.
