Volunteer Opportunities

Create a home for newly arrived refugee families! We need your experience with moving to help load furniture and household items from our warehouse, unload into apartments, and help set up a new home for a family in need. Also assist with local donation pick-ups to warehouse as needed.

Schedule depends on arrival and housing factors. Weekend/evenings may be included. MVR clearance required. Preferred experience driving trailers and operating hand-trucks, dollies, and basic knowledge of safe lifting procedures.

Get to know the ins and outs of World Relief and welcome clients as an Office Greeter! Office volunteers are essential in welcoming visitors to the office as well as provide administrative or special project support. Your kindness and smile can help make a refugee's experience less intimidating.

Schedule 4 hours/week, select from 10-12, 12-2, 2-4pm shifts available M, T, Th, Fr.

Make a difference in the refugee and immigrant community by volunteering to help drive routes for English classes and other essential appointments. You will be helping provide a much needed resource for clients as they integrate here in the Tri-Cities area.

Schedule is 2-4 hours weekly, and varies based on client need. MVR clearance required. Auto insurance coverage required if driving personal vehicle.

Learn about the cultural adjustment process firsthand and expand your worldview by getting to know a refugee or immigrant family through a supportive friendship focused on cultural awareness alongside practical help navigating life in America. Assist with cultural adaptation, conversational language skills, daily tasks, and a variety of other activities through the initial resettlement process.

About 2+ hours weekly, with a flexible schedule. Minimum 4 month commitment.

Help refugees learn the bus system! Without their own transportation, it is a challenge for newly arrived refugees to get to appointments, work, and grocery stores. Learning to navigate the transit system is life-changing, and you can be a part of it!

Schedule 3-4 hours weekly based on client need.
