You Are Invited to a Church Leadership Event

Who Is My Neighbor?

Exploring God's heart for immigrants and refugees.

Thursday, March 16, 2023

With special guest Matthew Soerens

It’s both our mission and our privilege at World Relief to help empower churches throughout the Tri-Cities to love and serve our foreign-born neighbors in tangible ways.

Join author Matthew Soerens for this morning event with invited Tri-Cities-area ministry leaders as we explore God's heart for immigrants and refugees.

Together we can become a community of welcome.

Thursday, March 16, 8:30-12 noon

Leo Center

3525 East A Street, Pasco, WA 99301

With Guest Speaker, Matthew Soerens

Author and World Relief's Vice President of Advocacy and Policy

Until most recently, Matthew Soerens served as the U.S. Director of Church Mobilization and Advocacy for World Relief and the National Coordinator for the Evangelical Immigration Table,  a coalition that World Relief leads along with partners like the National Association of Evangelicals, the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and various other national Christian organizations. Matthew will explore how Christians can engage in policy discussions in non-partisan ways guided by our Christian faith, highlighting several bipartisan proposals likely to be considered by the U.S. Congress in the coming weeks and months.

He is the co-author of Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate (InterVarsity Press, 2018), Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis (Moody Publishers, 2016) and the recent Inalienable: How Marginalized Kingdom Voices Can Help Save the American Church (InterVarsity Press, 2022).
