The refugee crisis all over the world continues to dominate our news cycle and demand our attention. The Rochester community has stepped into this global situation with open arms by welcoming hundreds of Afghans, Syrians, Congolese, Ukrainians, and other immigrants.
World Relief Western New York is grateful for churches and community leaders who have played an important role in this community-wide response.
To thank you for your leadership and lend vision for new partnerships, we are hosting a lunch and learn for leaders like you!
Guest Speaker: Matthew Soerens
Matthew Soerens is the US director of church mobilization and advocacy for World Relief and the national coordinator of the Evangelical Immigration Table. He is the coauthor of Welcoming the Stranger, Seeking Refuge, and new book Inalienable.
During our luncheon, we will:
- share a meal together at our office headquarters
- hear an important and timely message from Matt based on his newly released book, Inalienable, which will be provided at no cost to you
- enjoy a time of fellowship and prayer with other Christian leaders in Rochester, including many who came as refugees and immigrants
The culmination of Matt’s visit to Rochester will be our Global Neighbors Gala on October 13 from 6-8 pm. We'd love to see you there too! Please spread the word about our Gala in your churches and communities.
