What is a Host Home?

Host homes are a temporary housing solutions

Hosting a refugee family can last from 3 days to 3 weeks. If you have a spare bedroom, there’s a good chance you can host.

Refugees can rest and orient themselves to a new culture and community in the comfort of your guest room.

Host homes are more affordable than hotels

Refugees often have to stay in hotels when they first arrive, and one week at a hotel generally costs half a month’s rent.

Who can be a Host Home Volunteer?

• Must have a shared or connected space in your home, with a dedicated bathroom and bedroom(s) for the guest(s). These spaces need to be private, dignifying spaces for the guest.
• Within a 30 minute drive from a local World Relief office
• Any adult head of household (18+) can apply
