Welcoming Our Refugee Neighbors
Double your impact when you give this World Refugee Day.
Thanks to a generous grant, your World Refugee Day donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar so your gift will make DOUBLE the impact for refugee families.
Today, over 100 million people have fled their homes due to war, poverty, natural disasters, and persecution. We grieve this loss while celebrating the many gifts our new refugee neighbors bring to our communities.
$100,000 will help us welcome over 750 refugees to Chicagoland this year. Will you give to help us reach that goal?
“To be a refugee is not an easy thing. It’s just a thing you have to do to pray to God. God helped me because I became strong and fight for the kids to grow up…in a safer place.”
— Goreth from DR Congo
Since the 1970s, World Relief Chicagoland has been welcoming refugees to the U.S., fostering a spirit of mutual transformation as together, we mourn the disruptions of displacement and rejoice with one another, celebrating new beginnings and new friendships.
While the problem of displacement may feel big, we can embody a spirit of welcome and make a difference in the lives of those who have been displaced.
“Seeing smiling, welcoming faces was one of the best things when coming to the United States.”
— Hawraa, former refugee from Iraq
