About Big Day of Giving
Big Day of Giving is a 24-hour celebration of generosity across the Greater Sacramento Region, led by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation. Join World Relief Sacramento on Thursday, May 7, 2026—with early giving beginning April 23—as our community comes together to respond to ongoing uncertainty by standing with refugees and vulnerable immigrants.
Why This Matters Now
Over the past year, thousands of refugees already living in the Sacramento region have continued to navigate complex integration challenges, including food insecurity, housing instability, employment barriers, and reduced access to services due to shifting policies and funding uncertainty.
In 2025, federal-administration changes disrupted long-standing refugee support systems. In 2026, uncertainty remains around what additional policy changes may come or how they may impact refugees and vulnerable immigrants already in our community.
What is certain—these families will continue to need consistent, local support from trusted partners to rebuild their lives, successfully integrate, and achieve lasting self-sufficiency.
Our Community’s Commitment
Through the generosity of individuals, churches, and community partners across Northern California, refugees in our community are not facing these challenges alone. Your support makes it possible for families already living in Sacramento to access food, maintain housing stability, pursue employment, and continue building toward long-term self-sufficiency.
This essential support is only possible because of our community’s continued commitment—showing up again and again with compassion, consistency, and care. We thank you for your support—because together, we flourish as a diverse and inclusive Sacramento community.
Why Give
Your generosity fuels both immediate response and long-term stability. Every gift—whether given early or on May 7—helps our community:
• Respond quickly to urgent needs like food and basic assistance
• Sustain housing and stabilization support
• Maintain critical integration services despite funding uncertainty
• Remain flexible and prepared as policies continue to evolve
Early gifts, beginning April 23, provide added stability by allowing services to continue uninterrupted and helping our community plan responsibly in uncertain times.
Your Impact
Your support on Big Day of Giving allows our community to remain present and responsive—so refugees and vulnerable immigrants in Sacramento are not left navigating uncertainty alone. While circumstances continue to shift, your commitment helps sustain stability and hope for thousands of refugee neighbors already living here.
