Welcome Kits
Refugees & vulnerable immigrants often flee their homes at a moment's notice.
By providing Welcome Kits, you are helping to ensure that refugees and immigrants are able to spend those funds on other necessary costs such as rent and weekly groceries. There are many types of welcome kits to choose from. Each kit contains basic items that can be purchased at most retail stores like Walmart, Target, Dollar Stores, and Costco. The amount spent on each kit may vary.
Put together a couple of kits at home or organize your community to do a drive.

Step 1: Download the Welcome Kit Packet
Welcome Kits provide the basic household items people need as they begin a new life in our community. Pick a kit to donate, or a few!
Step 2: Mobilize Your Community
Share the list with friends and family and start assembling your kits! Pack everything in plastic containers with lids and labeling your kit makes storage and delivery easier.
Step 3: Deliver your kits
Once your kits are ready, deliver them to our warehouse. Dropoff hours are on Fridays from 11am-3pm. Our warehouse is located at 8160 14th Ave, Suite D, Sacramento, CA 95826.
Other ways to create welcome
- Send items directly to our warehouse from our Amazon Wishlist! Simply add the items you wish to donate to your cart and they will automatically ship to us!
- Host an item drive with your community. To find out what items are almost out of stock in our warehouse, email BStevenson@wr.org.
- Gift cards are a great alternative - gift cards to Amazon, Target, and Walmart are especially helpful to help furnish and stock a home with for an arriving refugee family.
- Volunteer with us by serving at our warehouse days or assisting in apartment setups! Learn more about volunteering here.
