Deportation/Removal Defense Attorney Referral List

The linked referral list has the information of competent attorneys who provide removal defense services in immigration court. It lists nonprofit organizations and private attorneys, both in the Sacramento area and throughout Northern California.

Sacramento Family Unity and Education Legal (FUEL) Network: “The FUEL Network was established in 2017 by the City of Sacramento in collaboration with other local community organizations. The Sacramento FUEL Network for Immigrants is a coalition of over 80 local non-profits, religious organizations, law school immigration clinics, businesses, local pro bono attorneys, educators, and other community partners. Our network is dedicated to serving the legal, information, and health needs of Sacramento’s immigrant and refugee population. Our partners help the community prevent, prepare for and defend against deportation.”

Northern California FUEL Network Rapid Response Line: “The Rapid Response Hotline number is (916) 382-0256. There is language capacity in Spanish and English. There is usually only one dispatcher at a time; if the line is busy, it is because we are speaking with someone else. To ensure we respond to our callers promptly, we ask that individuals calling use the line only to report ICE activity in the area, or seek help for someone detained in the past 24 hours. You may report incidents from the following counties to the hotline: Butte, Colusa, El Dorado, Nevada, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter and Yolo.” Links to other counties rapid response lines in California are listed here: Sacramento Rapid Response Network | sacfuel

NorCal Resist: Provides some assistance with bail, know your rights information, deportation defense, accompaniment to ICE check-ins and court appearances, and asylum application preparation workshops.
