In partnership with the U.S. Department of State, we welcome refugees and support them during the initial resettlement period - the first 90 days after arrival. Whether it’s securing housing, supplying basic necessities, or enrolling children in school, we come alongside these families every step of the way as they begin a path to belonging.

At World Relief, we know that adjusting to a life in a new country, with new culture, language, and often even different climate takes a while. Our Extended Case Management programs work with individuals after their initial resettlement months, to provide ongoing and specialized support including help navigating systems like healthcare and offering group services.

For over 40 years, World Relief’s Department of Justice accredited Immigration Legal Services have served our immigrant neighbors and friends, providing the support and knowledge they need to obtain legal status for themselves and their families here in the U.S. Through direct service provision, training, referrals, advocacy, and education, World Relief Quad Cities walks alongside our immigrant community members on the path to stable immigration status, giving them the security and peace-of-mind they need to flourish in the U.S.

Refugee and immigrant kids face the unique challenges of adjusting to a new school system and educational expectations, while also trying to reestablish a sense of community and rootedness in a new culture. At World Relief Quad Cities, our desire is to see children and families flourish and reach their fullest potential, despite the early obstacles they face upon immigrating. Our Youth & Family Services actively prepare refugee and immigrant children for a successful school experience and long-term cognitive and socio-emotional development by working with them and their families.

Refugees and other immigrants bring incredible skills and experience with them when they arrive and are often eager to find a job to support their families. Unfortunately, immigrants often face challenges adapting their skills to the US workforce and the barriers to entry can be significant. Our Employment Services offers support by providing job training, connecting them with employers, assisting with resumes and interview prep, and exploring career pathways.

Learning English is a gateway to life in the U.S. Refugees and other immigrants come from a wide variety of linguistic backgrounds, but for those who do not yet have English skills, class fees can also be a barrier. World Relief Quad Cities offers free English classes for adults in person for beginners to advanced learners. Virtual classes are also available.
