Volunteer Opportunities with World Relief

Pair up with a group of new arrivals and teach them how to use the public bus system for school and work.

Care for children during family literacy classes while the parents learn.

Pair up with a few friends to walk alongside an immigrant or refugee family for a 6- month commitment with meetings once per week. Show the family how to navigate their new community by teaching bus transportation, grocery shopping, helping children with homework, working on English skills and more.

Combat loneliness and isolation through intentional friendship. Get to know a refugee or immigrant family and help them feel known and connected by providing consistent friendship and cultural empowerment, while assisting in practical ways.

Shop, stock, shop the pantry, bag, and distribute fresh, culturally appropriate foods to refugee clients via drive-thru or delivery. Our food pantry is open on the third Monday of each month.

Create a welcoming environment for refugees and immigrants in their new homes by delivering and setting up household items.

Career Mentoring

Mentor a young adult refugee as they prepare for the next step in their career path, building their confidence and your relationship in the process.

Youth Mentoring

Build relationships by coming alongside a refugee or immigrant youth and their parent(s) as they adjust to homework, school, and parenting in the U.S.

Provide office support in various projects including filing, making phone calls, or other administrative duties.

Teach about financial literacy, job readiness, or become an English tutor.

Practice conversational English and language skills with an adult refugee or immigrant, becoming friends in the process! Virtual options for tutoring are available through Zoom, FaceTime, and WhatsApp.

Help transport clients enrolled in Job Readiness classes on Fridays from 9AM - 10AM and 11:30AM - 12:30PM.

Transport clients to and from important short-distance and long-distance appointments: legal issues, medical, job interviews, etc.
