What You Can Do For Your Afghan Neighbors

Needs are changing rapidly. We are updating this page regularly.

Last updated 10/29/21.

Thousands of Afghan families are becoming increasingly vulnerable following the Taliban takeover.

Some of those facing the greatest danger are men and women whose association with the U.S. is now threatening their lives and the lives of their families.

Together we can respond.

Transportation Kits

Help refugees travel in the community. These items support them as they create routines, shop for essentials and establish employment.

Economic Empowerment Kit

We've received a high-volume of welcome kits that include housing essentials. We now need items that will support refugees to be successful in finding employment.

Give

Together, let’s show the world that America is a place of welcome and that we are a people of welcome. When you give today, you join us in bringing hope, healing and restoration right here in Sacramento.

Do you have another way you'd like to give?

We are receiving a high volume of requests and have provided as much as we can in the links above. However, we recognize that we have friends and partners in the community who want to do more. If you have an idea or would like to host an event for incoming refugees, please contact Vanassa: vhamra@wr.org. Please understand we are responding and acting as swiftly as possible. Expect delays in email responses as we’re navigating this situation and prioritizing client care.
