Guest Speaker: Matthew Soerens
Matthew Soerens serves as the U.S. Director of Church Mobilization and Advocacy for World Relief and the National Coordinator for the Evangelical Immigration Table, a coalition that World Relief leads along with partners like the National Association of Evangelicals, the National Latino Evangelical Coalition, the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission and various other national Christian organizations. Matthew will explore how Christians can engage in policy discussions in non-partisan ways guided by our Christian faith, highlighting several bipartisan proposals likely to be considered by the U.S. Congress in the coming weeks and months.
He is the co-author of Welcoming the Stranger: Justice, Compassion & Truth in the Immigration Debate (InterVarsity Press, 2018), Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the Global Refugee Crisis (Moody Publishers, 2016) and the recent Inalienable: How Marginalized Kingdom Voices Can Help Save the American Church (InterVarsity Press, 2022).
