The Community Ambassador role is designed to contribute to the process of World Relief Spokane and our partners learning how we can best help refugees and immigrants to flourish in our community. This will happen as the ambassador participates in outreach activities within communities, fulfills grant objectives, and communicates to World Relief the trends observed in communities and both general and specific needs and feedback. The role may also include client support such as interpreting, facilitating educational activities and doing follow-up calls and visits. This position is for 20 hours a week.

The Education Coordinator (EC) helps newcomers gain the knowledge and skills that foster stability and integration while fostering community networks and support through group-based educational services. This new Volunteer Coordinator role is being created to enhance the office’s capacity to recruit, vet, train, support and effectively match volunteers with newcomers, especially the Afghan community who arrived through Operation Allies Welcome. The Volunteer Coordinator (VC) will work within the case management team to provide training and support directly to volunteers, empowering them with best practices in volunteer services. The VC will also be part of the larger VC team to support a healthy volunteerism process from beginning to end.

The Integration and Wellness Team Admin and Scheduling Associate will enhance the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team empowering recent Afghan arrivals through Operation Allies Welcome, as they learn to navigate and ultimately to thrive in Spokane. To do this, the Associate will help the integration team with admin support such as building and improving admin and tracking protocols, document storage and management, follow-up calls with service providers, and reminder calls to program participants. This person will work with a wide range of individuals and will be a key part of the team in coaching and supporting newcomers from around the world as they adjust to a new system.

The Integration and Wellness team seeks to empower newcomers through one-on-one case management, group services, and other support and connections to support networks within the community. This position is designed to expand the capacity of the team in three ways, 1.) Provide high quality, planned and effective case management with a focus on empowering, building resiliency and removing barriers to self-sufficiency; 2.) Provide oversight of the reporting and billing functions of the grants that fund the department; and 3.) Provide supervision, training, and support for the department’s Admin and Scheduling Associate.

The Program Associate will work with a multi-disciplinary team to cultivate sustainable support networks and services with a special emphasis on the recent Afghan arrivals through Operation Allies Welcome. The Program Associate will do this by acting as a bridge for APA clients as they transition out of initial resettlement services, some of whom may only needs occasional check-ins and minimal support, others who may need support through extended case management programs and group services. For those enrolled in programs at World Relief, the Associate would also support participants with interpreting, facilitating or teaching educational activities, and doing follow-up calls and visits, follow-up calls with service providers, and documentation as required per program.
