Tough Conversations
At World Relief Chicagoland, Hope Wetlesen and her colleagues met nearly every newly-arrived refugee under World Relief’s care this past January. When the U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program was paused indefinitely and funding was frozen, they faced an impossible task — breaking the devastating news to families who already endured so much. Today, Hope shares with you what she sees in refugees — resilient, hardworking and courageous people who have fought against adversity time and again, determined to build a thriving future.
