Primary responsibilities of this role covers administrative tasks and responsibilities assigned by Initial Resettlement staff. This role may include helping with client appointments, as needed.

Associate English Language Instructor (Part Time)

World Relief seeks a Associate English Language Instructor. This position has the primary responsibility for providing English language instruction for adult refugees and immigrants from literacy to advanced-level language learners. This position helps students gain practical English language proficiency for self-sufficiency, community engagement/communication, further education, and/or employment and career advancement in the United States. Instructors facilitate students moving toward stability and healthy integration in their communities and workplaces. Instruction may occur in a variety of modalities: in-person, hybrid model, or remote during day or evening hours. Instruction may include a literacy, English Language Acquisition, or career-based focus. This position collaborates with other instructors and other departments to meet student needs. This part time role is for 24 hours per week.

Career Pathways Specialist

The Career Pathways Specialist, guides immigrants to enter their career of choice by helping them clarify their interests and goals, preparing them for vocational training opportunities, finding funding opportunities for training, career coaching, and developing and maintaining connections with a variety of external stakeholders. If you enjoy providing coaching to people as they make key decision, are people-oriented yet also enjoy navigating systems, and interested in assisting refugees, asylees and other immigrants integrate into the US by planning with them to begin their career, the position of Career Pathways Specialist might be just the job for you!

This position has responsibility for providing case management primarily to newly arriving refugee and immigrant families, including providing initial resettlement services, ongoing cultural adjustment support, orientations, referrals, and mediation services. The Refugee Case Worker will work closely with community organizations, churches, landlords, and service providers to promote successful community integration. This position is based in Chicago and requires visits to refugee families primarily in northern Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.

Volunteer Mobilization Coordinator (Limited Term)

World Relief Chicagoland seeks an experienced, people-oriented Volunteer Mobilization Coordinator to join the Volunteer Engagement team, empowering volunteers to come alongside refugees and immigrants across Chicagoland. In working closely with volunteer coordinators, the goal of this position is to process, screen, and connect volunteers with service opportunities within WR’s ministry, including Immigration Legal Services, Immigrant Family Services, Education (ELL) services, and general office needs. The position is responsible for assisting volunteers through the application process, training, and referring volunteers to the appropriate department, as well as taking a lead role in recruitment, data accuracy, and metrics tracking in collaboration with the national Community Engagement team of World Relief. This role also works closely with the Chicagoland Church Mobilization team in communicating volunteer needs to church partners and updating church partners about their members’ participation in service.
