The Wellness Navigator provides health related health education and individual coaching to refugees and other eligible immigrants in the Triangle Region of North Carolina. The primary function of this position is to assist newly arrived refugees to learn to navigate the local health system and to gain increased essential health literacy. The Wellness Navigator must be a native speaker of Swahili.

The Employment Coordinator provides employment services to newly arrived refugees and other eligible immigrant through the federally funded Matching Grant (MG) and State funded Refugee Support Services (RSS) programs. The coordinator cultivates and maintains relationships with employers, conducts job readiness training, places refugees in jobs, and provides post-employment follow-up services.

The Resettlement Coordinator provides case management services to support the initial resettlement of newly arrived refugees through the Reception and Placement (R&P) program, as funded by the U.S. Department of State. The Resettlement Coordinator will carry a personal caseload, for which they have primary service responsibility during the 30-90 day R&P period.

The Childcare Coordinator works with the Resettlement department to provide childcare and educational experiences for refugee and immigrant children while parents participate in group programming at World Relief Durham.

Implement the Refugee Support Services program and ensure services, which support and strengthen clients’ motivation and capacity to become self-supporting, are provided in a planned, effective, and timely manner to eligible clients. The program focuses on removing obstacles to employment and self-sufficiency. This includes essential case management support, drivers’ education classes, transportation and childcare assistance, employment services, and more.

The Preferred Communities Case Coordinator provides intensive case management services to newly arrived refugees with acute vulnerabilities, including significant medical conditions, through the Preferred Communities (PC) program. This position is a 40 hour/week role which assists refugees and other eligible immigrants to achieve self-sufficiency within a 12-month period.
