Thurston County

Thurston County is World Relief Western Washington's third and most recent office location. We received approval from the U.S. government in Fall 2022 to begin resettling refugees, and anticipate our first arrivals in Spring 2023.

World Relief in Thurston County focuses on initial resettlement support, such as securing stable housing, providing cultural orientation, and enrolling children in school. Programs are anticipated to expand as we engage with newly arrived individuals and hear what they most need from their community. Refugee Resettlement

In partnership with the U.S. Department of State, we welcome refugees and support them during the initial resettlement period - the first 90 days after arrival. Whether it’s securing housing, supplying basic necessities, or enrolling children in school, we come alongside these families every step of the way as they begin a path to belonging.

In Olympia's first year, we aim to resettle 50 individuals
