Next Steps to Volunteer

Thank you for attending our World Relief Seattle volunteer orientation. Just a few more next steps to onboard or return as a volunteer! Please read through each section below and take the necessary action steps before you complete the form at the bottom of the page.

Background Check/Motor Vehicle License Checks

If you will be serving as a volunteer for Host Homes, Post-Release Services, Good Neighbor Teams, or any role that could include transporting a guest or client (in a personal vehicle or WR vehicle), please follow this link to complete the Background and License Check.

If you will not be driving as part of your volunteer role, please complete the Standard Background Check.

If you experience any issues with the background/license check, you can reach tech support at TheAdvocates@SterlingVolunteers.com or call 1-855-326-1860 and select Option 3.

WA State Licenses Only - Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Form

If you have a WA state license, you must complete and submit this Washington State Motor Vehicle Record Form.

THERE ARE TWO METHODS FOR YOU TO COMPLETE THE FORM:

  1. Print, sign, scan and email a copy of the form to VolunteerWesternWA@wr.org
  2. OR to complete the form directly on your computer, download and open the file using DocHub or Adobe, Click EDIT, EDIT TEXT & IMAGES. Then save the updated form and email to VolunteerWesternWA@wr.org.

Please fill out the highlighted fields at the bottom of the form with:

- full name
- date of birth
- driver's license number
- signature and date

Host Home Volunteers Only

If you will be serving as a Host Home volunteer (housing World Relief clients in your home), it is an Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) requirement that host home volunteer residents ages 12+ submit proof of COVID vaccination. These records are kept confidential. If any members of your household ages 12+ cannot be vaccinated due to medical or religious reasons, we thank you in advance for choosing a different volunteer role.

Please send a photo or scan of proof of vaccination to VolunteerWesternWA@wr.org.

We are also inviting our Host Home Volunteers to complete this survey so we can get a better idea about your available space, availability and home situation.
