Support U.S. Foreign Assistance

U.S. Foreign Assistance plays a vital role in saving lives around the world as well as supporting the strategic national interests of America. Humanitarian and development organizations like World Relief partner with the U.S. government to deliver lifesaving aid in fragile contexts around the world. This work includes alleviating poverty, controlling the spread of disease, supplying vital medication, bringing basic education to children and more.

At World Relief, we know firsthand how important humanitarian aid funding is for resilient communities around the world, and for the good of America. Our partnership with the U.S. Government has allowed us to deliver life-saving programming in places like Haiti, where our clean water and hygiene initiatives have saved the lives of children and families by preventing cholera and other water borne diseases. In South Sudan, through US government partnership, we’ve provided maternal health services for mothers and their young babies who face malnutrition and illness. And in Sudan, where violence and instability are a daily reality, we’ve provided life-saving food aid for those seeking safety.

U.S. Foreign assistance is good for Americans, too. In addition to creating tens of thousands of jobs for Americans, the State Department and USAID have a proven track record of partnering with U.S. businesses to provide food, goods, and services for programming needs. In fact, eleven of America’s top fifteen export markets have been recipients of U.S. foreign assistance.

Our most important partner will always be the church — and we are actively inviting our church partners, donors, volunteers and other supporters to step into this gap, allowing us to serve those to whom we’ve already made commitments as well and holistically as possible. For years, in addition to our strong church partnerships, World Relief has also worked with the U.S. government to address the needs of the world’s greatest crises.

Leaders from both sides of the political aisle have agreed that the U.S.’s role in international development and humanitarian aid strengthens the United States’ global standing and saves lives. Urge your members of Congress to advocate for the current administration to continue this life-saving work. Ask them to support ongoing funding for U.S. foreign assistance —for the benefit of both the world and the U.S.
