Disaster Preparedness

We believe there is an opportunity to reduce suffering by taking a proactive approach to disasters, which in the face of recurring disasters like famine and drought can significantly reduce devastation and loss.

Our Disaster Risk Reduction programming works to reduce underlying vulnerabilities and build a culture of resilience in the communities in which we serve. We do this by:

• training community members in disaster risk reduction and preparedness

• mobilizing volunteers to share preparedness messages in their communities and serving communities with relevant risk reduction activities.
