World Relief Wisconsin More Accessible with Oshkosh Office Move to Hyde Family Community Center
World Relief Wisconsin will be better equipped to welcome newcomers to the Fox Valley as the Oshkosh office moves in August to the Hyde Family Community Center, 545 Monroe St.
As a community partner in the new center—a component of the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh’s recent $18.5 million expansion—World Relief Wisconsin will provide refugees arriving to the Fox Valley with a more accessible, family-friendly space to seek services.
“The vision for the Hyde Family Community Center has always centered around collaboration and ease for families. We as nonprofits can operate in a way that brings together all of our unique services to work better together and are thrilled that World Relief is going to be a part of it.,” said Tracy Ogden, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh.
“It will be a blessing for these new families coming to Oshkosh to have these resources.”
Partners in service
Along with World Relief Wisconsin, onsite partners housed in the center also include Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Wisconsin, Community for Hope of Greater Oshkosh, HeadsUp Fox Cities, Operation DREAM North Inc., Rawhide Youth Services and Winnebago County Public Health Department.
“We saw a need for a space that would really serve our clients’ needs,” said Nou Huse, Fox Valley site director with World Relief Wisconsin. “The Hyde Family Community Center was intentionally built as a hub for human service agencies and nonprofit organizations. We look forward to developing deeper relationships, growing our collaborations and increasing our visibility in the community,”
Huse said accessibility is a critical factor for World Relief’s efforts to provide refugees with case management, education, community engagement and partnerships, employment and economic empowerment and immigration legal services.
“The center—located right on the Oshkosh GO Transit bus line—offers first-floor offices and a welcoming reception area,” Huse said.
Additional features in the center that will enhance World Relief Wisconsin programming include modern multiuse/meeting spaces, flexible-use offices and a teaching kitchen.
World Relief Wisconsin Regional Director Gail Cornelius shared her gratitude for the opportunity to take part in in the new Boys & Girls Club endeavor.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to enhance our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club as well as the other nonprofit organizations that are joining the Hyde Family Community Center space,” Cornelius said. “We look forward to learning and growing together to meet the needs of families in the greater Oshkosh community. This is an innovative approach to collaboration that can serve as an example for us across the region.”
