We know it’s still October, but we couldn’t wait to tell you about our upcoming Christmas devotional — Change That Lasts.
A thousand years before Christ was born, the Israelite elders approached the prophet Samuel, asking him to appoint them a king. They saw a king as the solution to all of their problems.
But God knew a king couldn’t solve the deeply entrenched and longstanding issues their nation faced. Poverty, violence, oppression and displacement — these things and more plagued Israel, just as they plague our world today.
God knew that in order to bring real and lasting change, he’d need to do something radical, something unexpected, something that would uproot the sin patterns that caused so much suffering and build his kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
That something was Jesus.
This holiday season, we invite you to join us for a weekly Christmas devotional delivered right to your inbox. Together, we’ll explore the theme of lasting change in the life of Jesus and experience the presence of God in our daily lives.
The beautiful thing about Jesus coming as a baby is that the presence of a newborn invites us to lean in, to get still and quiet, and let the miracle of Jesus, packaged into something so seemingly small, transform us all.
Will you lean in with us?
In this season of hope, Jesus drew near to us so that we could draw near to others. And we believe the same healing and transformation that he brought to the world as Emmanuel, “God with us,” is still at work today through the church and through people just like you!
We hope you (and maybe a friend or two!) will join us for this Christmas devotional. Do future you a favor and set yourself up for an encounter with Jesus this season by signing up below.
